芳草社、2009年8月創業。「芳草」の典拠は『楚辞』離騒の「何ぞ昔日の芳草...」で、「聡明な君子」を意味する。

芳草社は、アジア全体の知的コミュニティ構築を目指す。その目的を果たすため、我々はアジア全体の人文科学の知的生産と普及に貢献すべく尽力し、アジアの研究者の知識と知恵が世界の学術システムの重要な構成要素となり、世界に絶えず新たな啓蒙をもたらさんことを期する。

Founded in Japan in August 2009, Housousya Press aims to build an Asian intellectual community. To achieve this goal, we are committed to the production and dissemination of knowledge in humanities in Asia; hopefully, Asian scholars will gain more influence in the international academic community and the wisdom embodied in their works will enlighten the world continuously.
